COM HQ MND-SE invited to NATO Senior Army Leader Meeting
GARMISH, Germany – Commander of Headquarters Multinational Division South-East, Brigadier General Daniel Petrescu, highlighted the importance of the Tailored Forward Presence (tFP) on the South-Eastern part of NATO during the 17th Senior Army Leader Meeting in Garmisch, Germany.
The event, organized by US Army NATO Brigade from 24-26 of July, was aimed to bring together all NATO organizations from across the NATO command structure and NATO force structure. This meeting provided Army leaders from over 40 various NATO Commands across 37 locations in 20 countries the opportunity to gather to share ideas, synchronize plans and provide feedback on future issues to affect U.S. and the Alliance.
Invited to the conference, alongside with commanders of NFIUs BGR and ROU, Commander of HQ MND-SE, Brigadier General Daniel Petrescu explained tFP role, emphasizing how HQ MND-SE and HQ MNBDE-SE are making a considerable effort to deter in the Black Sea region, an area that faces threats from both East and South. COM HQ MND-SE stressed out that NFIUs are playing a vital role within the Alliance, as local area experts and facilitators of NATO forces into the region.
During the 17th Senior Army Leader Meeting, the audience assisted to briefings aimed to provide updates from units and about activities and initiatives and was involved in discussions concerning current challenges and threats.
This conference showed NATO building its ability to deter and defend, making the Alliance stronger and ready to fight.
