UK Ambassador awarded British HQ MND-SE officer
BUCHAREST, Romania - Multinational Division South-East had distinguished visitors: British Ambassador to Romania, Paul Brummell and British Deputy Permanent Representative to NATO, Nick Pickard. They learnt a lot of details about HQ MND-SE role and mission, especially after achieving Final Operational Capability at the end of March 2018.
British Ambassador to Romania, Paul Brummell said it was “a great pleasure” to return to HQ MND-SE to learn more about the progress made by this organization to support NATO and about forward presence in the Eastern part of the Alliance.
The British Deputy Permanent Representative to NATO, Nick Pickard said it was an honor to visit HQ MND-SE. “I was delighted to learn more about the critical role which the Multinational Division plays in the Alliance, at a crucial time for NATO as the threats we face are increasing and the credibility of our ability to command and deploy our military instruments is at the forefront of how we can meet these threats”. British Deputy Permanent Representative to NATO led the ceremony of presenting an award to a British officer serving with Multinational Division South-East. “I also appreciated seeing directly the role that UK officers are playing in support of the Division alongside our allies and as a further demonstration of Great Britain`s ongoing and unconditional commitment to European security in Romania and the Black Sea region”, emphasized the British Deputy Permanent Representative to NATO.
Major Jamie Paul Linsdell, on duty in HQ MND-SE since April 2017, received “The Long Service and Good Conduct Medal” during a special ceremony, organized at Multinational Division South-East barracks. This medal is awarded for 15 years of unblemished service in the Army. For Major Linsdell it was a big honor to receive this medal from the British Ambassador to Romania and British Deputy Permanent Representative to NATO. “It is both a pleasure and a privilege to serve in this Headquarters in Romania. My career has been an exciting and rewarding journey for me and I look forward for many more to come”, said Major Linsdell. Before coming to HQ MND-SE, the British officer was serving in Baghdad, Iraq and in NATO’s Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps in Great Britain.
